Athanasios Migdanis received his degree BSc (Hons) in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Leeds Beckett University - Great Britain in 2003. In 2006, he completed his postgraduate studies (Master’s Degree) at the University of Aberdeen - School of Medicine (Scotland) specializing in Human Nutrition and Metabolism. From 2003 to 2005 he worked as a Clinical Dietitian in the National Health System (NHS) of Great Britain. Since 2008 he has been practicing as a private Dietitian-Nutritionist, while from 2011 until today he works as a research/teaching associate in the Department of Nutrition-Dietetics at University of Thessaly. Finally, he has also worked as an Academic Fellow in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at the Hellenic Mediterranean University of Crete and in the Departments of Public and one Health and Food Science and Nutrition at University of Thessaly. Since 2015 he has been employed as a research/teaching associate of the postgraduate program "Nutrition in health and disease" at the Medical School of the University of Thessaly. Moreover, from October 2013 to March 2018, he prepared and completed, at the same university, his doctoral dissertation regarding the nutritional management of patients who have undergone surgical resections of the colon. He is now employed as a post-doctoral researcher at the Medical School of University of Thessaly. He has published 12 original scientific papers and 17 abstracts in international scientific journals with the peer-review system. In addition, 25 scientific abstracts in which he has participated have been announced at international and national scientific conferences. His research work has 40 citations with h-index 3.
