The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Thessaly

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics (DND) at the University of Thessaly was established under Article 4589/2019 (Government Gazette 13/A’/29-01-2019) and is part of the School of Physical Education, Sport Science and Dietetics. The Department is located in Trikala and is currently in its fourth year of operation. Its facilities cover a total area of 3,000 sq.m. and include laboratories, a library, lecture rooms, a teleconferencing suite, and a computer lab. The Department is staffed by 10 faculty members, supported by one member of Laboratory Teaching Staff and one member of Special Technical Laboratory Staff in permanent positions. External collaborators holding doctoral degrees, who contribute to the delivery of courses, further enhance teaching. Members of the academic staff are actively engaged in the fields of nutrition and dietetics and have established a strong national and international presence. Their activities include participation in European and national organizations related to nutrition, involvement in innovative national and European research programs, and the development of dietary guidelines and best practice recommendations for the public.
